Summers is perhaps the most important time for students to learn. Having gone through the basics of management in their first year, summer internship perhaps is the first opportunity where students get a chance to apply their learning. Most of the students are also relatively free to structure their learning.

It is because of this and underlining the emphasis on learning we have launched this contest which will not only be a reminder for students to learn but will also help and reward them for learning.

Budding Consultant: Competition

Many MBA students want to make a career as Business Consultant but very few are able to get into it. A Consultant needs to have deep understanding of concepts and excellent analytical skills. Competition will allow you to practice and test your knowledge of concepts you have learned during your course curriculum. We are launching a competition wherein you will be showcasing your approach to various concepts.

To participate you have to submit a 15-20 slider PPT which will be a tutorial highlighting your methodology/approach in conducting a business research/strategy. You may assume that you are preparing this slides a tutorial to be presented to a team from your batchmates who will be working on a consulting project for a mid-sized FMCG manufacturer.

You can pick any one of the areas mentioned below:

1) Market Analysis
2) Go to Market Strategy
3) Business Plan

Few important points that you have to keep in mind:

1) PPT should clearly highlight step by step approach in executing any of the deliverable
2) You may include frameworks, sample graphs, tables etc just like a professional Consulting presentation
3) Since you are submitting a sample approach/methodology there is no need to put any data in the frameworks/graphs/tables
4)We expect your work to be original , any entry with copied material will be disqualified

Additionally these students will get to work on live consulting projects floated by BizResearchLabs in case they apply for the projects. Best presentations will also be utilised to guide the students who participate at live projects with BizREsearchLAbs.

BizResearchLabs partnered with FMS Delhi for Conquest’16

Biz Research Labs was the official Knowledge partner of Conquest 2016 Business case study competition organized by Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi.

The competition saw the participation of brightest minds of Top B Schools of the country. After screening in initial rounds the Top 5 teams battled it out at FMS Campus for the ultimate honour.

The final round was judged by esteemed FMS faculty alonwith Mr Vishal Arora , Prinicipal Consultant-Biz Research Labs.

The presentations delivered by finalists were well structured, innovative and analytical ;the discussions that followed were highly enriching for the participants as well as the audience.

Team ‘Consulting Chaps’ from NITIE Mumbai were declared the winners.

BizResearchLabs Best Project Competition

Every MBA Student prepares many project reports during his/her course duration but quite often the effort doesn’t fetch them the deserving rewards. We are launching a unique competition wherein we will be judging students based on the projects already completed.
To participate you just have to pick the best quality project that you have done and send it to us and compete with students from all over India. This competition is open for current MBA students only.

CaseQuest @IIFT Kolkata

BizResearchLabs present you CaseQuest @ IIFT Kolkata. Registrations are now open.

CaseQuest is a part of Vivaan – a two day symposium which will be held at IIFT, Kolkata campus on 5th and 6th September.

Participants will get a live case study from BizResearchLabs to solve and apply their classroom learnings to. Top 4 teams will directly be presenting to the judges.

Guidelines

 

  1. The team must consist of three members, all from the same institute.
  2. The team members may be from different years in their MBA/PGDM course.
  3. There will be a shortlisting of entries, and the top 4 entries will come to the campus for the final round.
  4. The guidelines for the final round shall be communicated to you upon the end of the first round.
  5. Please adhere to the deadlines given, requests for extensions​​ and late entries will not be entertained.

Live Project Cast Study

How this participant from IIM Bangalore created a neat professional industry study

Natarajan Ramachandran from IIM Bangalore worked alone on a research report while working with BizResearchLabs and did a commendable job under the scheduled timeline.

How he did it in his own words:

The study involved analyzing the Health and Wellness Industry in India. IIM Bangalore Student Live ProjectThe preliminary step towards the project was to analyze the Value Chain of the industry. This was a challenge, as the sector was spread out catering to different segments. The key elements of the value chain included the Providers, Suppliers, Facilitators, Buyers and the Government. We classified Providers into three major categories namely Preventive Healthcare division (comprising of Health and wellness food products, Dietary supplements and Alternate therapy products and services), Health and Fitness division (comprising of Fitness Centers, Slimming and Weight management centers) and Beauty Services, Products and Rejuvenation division (comprising of Beauty and Cosmetic Products, Salons and Beauty Centers and Rejuvenation Centers). We analyzed all elements of the Value chain in detail. Secondary research data was used for the analysis and critical insights were generated for all members of the value chain in terms of their sales volume and projected trends. Based on this analysis, we figured out the Market potential and the key markets for the Health and wellness industry in India. We then performed a comprehensive Industry analysis to understand the attractiveness of the industry. We used the Porter’s five forces framework to perform our analysis and figured out the industry attractiveness of the various segments of the Health and Wellness industry. We then identified the Key trends and drivers of growth for the Health and Wellness industry in India. We concluded our Indian market analysis by identifying the Industry life cycle.

We then performed an International Market Analysis by studying the American (USA) and European markets. The analysis was based on empirical data collected using secondary research. We also formulated a case of a leading Health and Fitness provider at the USA who diversified into various offerings of the Health and wellness sector. From this, we derived critical learnings and insights which could be adopted to the Indian market.

Next, we performed a competitor landscape analysis listing major competition across all segments of the industry. We also generated key insights from 4 major competitors and performed a comprehensive SWOT Analysis which enabled us to generate a couple of key learnings for our client.

To conclude, from this comprehensive analysis, we presented three key recommendations which were arrived logically from the industry analysis for our client. Overall, the industry analysis project enabled to analyze an industry in detail and provide focused strategic recommendations for our client.

UBS_CMO_Anuj _AroraWe are glad to announce our new Campus Marketing Officer from UBS, Chandigarh – Aruj Arora. Aruj is a 2016 batch student of UBS, Chandigarh. Prior to his MBA, Aruj completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Amity School of Engineering and Technology (2009-2013), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
Aruj has also worked as Business Operation Associate for 12 months at SnapLion, a mobile app development Start-up in Delhi.
